Jammu, Apr 2: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Trade Union (JKPDTU) has asked government to issue clarification regarding GAD order advocating disengagement of daily wagers engaged after 1994. According to press release a meeting of senior leaders of the JKPDTU was held here today under the chairmanship of president Suresh Sharma. Sharma while referring to Circular NO: 09-GAD of 2013, dated March, 26, 2013 issued by the GAD where in it has been ordered that barring four departments viz-a-viz Agriculture , PHE,R&B and PDD, all the daily wagers engaged in various departments after 1994 should be discontinued. He expressed his surprise over such an arbitrary order in view of the fact that the Government in various meetings and agreements executed, has principally agreed to consider regularization of all daily wagers even engaged after 1994. He said that by virtue of the order hundreds of daily wages working since 1994 in various departments particularly Estastes department would come on roads . "The Government should immediate issue clarification whether daily wages engaged after issuance of order NLO:239-F of 2005 dated:29.11.2005 i.e. after 2005 are to be discontinued and the daily wagers engaged after 1994 to 2005 are not be discontinued" he said. Prem Singh Bawa Vice President , Mohinder Sharma, coordinator Kapil Bakshi Secretary made fervent appeal to the government to issue clarification of the recent circular which is creating lot of confusion amongst the genuinely engaged daily wagers particularly in Estates and other departments.
